And also with you.
*Call To Worship
We go with Jesus into the wilderness.
We feel the need to get away and reflect and to pray.
We stay with Jesus in the wilderness.
We sense the power of the Tempter calling us to the easy, self-serving way.
We endure with Jesus in the wilderness,
aware of a supportive Presence showing us a faithful way, a compassionate path.
We return with Jesus from the wilderness,
renewed in body, mind and spirit, ready to be about God's work.
*Opening Prayer
*Opening Hymn:
"Throughout These Lenten Days and Nights" VU108
Prayer of Confession
Lent is a good time to look carefully at our patterns of life and faith in your presence, most understanding God.
Where have we followed the path of deception, change our direction.
You will change our direction.
Where we have not taken the feelings of others into account, give us sensitivity.
You will give us sensitivity.
Where we have hung back from working for the common good, bring us back into fellowship.
You will engage us in the faith community.
Where we have ignored the practice of prayer and forsaken the Word, faithfully renew us.
You will renew us.
Where we have missed opportunities to stand with the powerless, give us courage.
You will give us courage.
Time of Reflection…..
Words of Assurance
God hears our silently offered prayers and stands ready to bring us a fresh start as members of the family of God.
We will renew our faith and practice; we will begin again with joy and determination.
God stands ready to help us as we rededicate ourselves to the Christian way. Pardon and peace are ours!
Thanks be to God! Amen.

Your work, O God, needs many hands
to help you everywhere,
and some there are who cannot serve
unless our gifts we share.
Because we love you and your work,
our offering now we make:
be pleased to use it as your own,
we ask for Jesus' sake.
*Offertory Prayer
These are our gifts God, offered to bring change in the way of Jesus Christ.
Through these gifts, selfishness will be questioned, humility nurtured, and compassion fostered. Through these gifts, justice will be promoted, community strengthened and the Gospel proclaimed.
Bless them and bless all who receive them, for Jesus is at the heart of them.
Amen.
