People of God gather to listen.
We rejoice that we can hear the Word of God that challenges and guides.
People of God gather in friendship.
We rejoice that we can encourage and help each other.
People of God gather to serve.
We rejoice that we are able to support and empower in the name of Jesus Christ.

Prayer of Confession
Jesus is the teacher of our faith community.
Are we open to new truth?
Jesus brings healing through our faith community.
Are we ready to be a people of compassion?
Jesus brings acceptance to the despised and lonely.
Are we able to reach out to those in need of feeling valued and included?
Jesus brings forgiveness to the selfish and the sinful.
Are we ready to take time to confess openly, honestly, and thoroughly?
Time of Reflection…..
Words of Assurance
God enables us to ask the hard questions and to face the answers that trouble us.
We will not hold back from the need to confess nor the need to start afresh.
God supports the person who recommits to the Christian way.
We take heart knowing that we are not alone.
Pardon and peace are ours.
Thanks be to God! Amen.

*Doxology: "Your Work, O God, Needs Many Hands" VU537
Your work, O God, needs many hands
to help you everywhere,
and some there are who cannot serve
unless our gifts we share.
Because we love you and your work,
our offering now we make:
be pleased to use it as your own,
we ask for Jesus' sake.
*Offertory Prayer
Bring home to us, O God, the scope of your many gifts and stir up within us the wisdom and the insight to bring change.
May we use this money, so that this faith community may know, and so that those touched by our mission gifts may know, that the way of Jesus Christ is still a healing, compassionate, and wonderful way. Amen.

*Commissioning
Your Word has made an impact on us, O God. We leave this church with a new attitude:
ready to question, ready to doubt, ready to learn, ready to pray, ready to commit, ready to serve, ready to support, ready to encourage, ready for discipleship, ready to confess Christ day by day.
We go confidently, but we do not go alone.
God goes with us!
*Benediction

Today in Prayer
We pray for all those who mourn: the loss of loved ones, the loss of relationships, the loss of hope.

SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Guatemala Mission Team 2008 is eager to have more enthusiastic team members join us for the two week mission in April 2008. We have each committed to paying $3000 for the cost of the trip. Some of us will be fund-raising to get that amount and others prefer to "pay and go" without the hassle of fund-raising. With those two options, we figure we can accommodate everyone's preferences. Many want to go, but felt overwhelmed, discouraged or distracted by the fund-raising and would rather pay the money themselves. If the fund-raising has been the deciding factor for you, please reconsider with these new guidelines in place and contact Rev. Steph (424-6681) to join the team. We'd love to have you with us, but you must respond by March 30th. Thanks.
THE SESSION has had a request to change the start time for Sunday morning service from 11 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. We will be placing a vote sheet in the pew. Please answer YES or NO and sign your name.
