* Introit: Jesus, You Have Come To The Lakeshore, VU563

Jesus, you have come to the lakeshore

looking neither for wealthy nor wise ones;

you only asked me to follow humbly.

O Jesus, with your eyes you have searched me,

and while smiling, have spoken my name;

now my boat's left on the shoreline behind me;

by your side I will seek other seas.

*Call to Worship

Leader: From the very beginning, God's wisdom was in the
world, calling us.
Voice 1: From here,
Voice 2: and here
Voice 3: and here
Voice 4: and here.
Leader: From all around us the voice of wisdom calls us to
live in God's way. Do you hear wisdom's voice?
All: We do.
One: And what is your response?
All: We are here, God. We are your people.
One: Then let us worship the God who has created us, who
delights in being with us, and whose Spirit is all around
us.

* Opening Prayer (unison):

O Most Blessed One, as we enter into the life of your Spirit, teach our hearts to be psalms, singing forth your praise; teach our minds to be proverbs, shining forth your wisdom; and teach our lives to be parables, showing forth your glory in every gesture and deed. Amen.

* Opening Hymn: O God Our Help 806

Prayer of Confession (in unison):

Wise and Holy God,
Help us to have peace of mind and a sense of moral confidence to know in our heart what is right and wrong. Give us strength to make wise decisions and the courage to stand by our convictions - even in the face of adversity or pressure from our peers. Help us to be happy with ourselves and the path we have taken. And love us when we stray from what is right, so that your love may be our guide. (silent reflection) Amen.

Reflection

*Hymn: O The Deep, Deep Love Of Jesus (Hymns Family of God)

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,

Vast, unmeasured boundless, free!

Rolling as a mighty ocean

In its fullness over me!

Underneath me, all around me,

Is the current of Thy love -

Leading onward, Leading homeward,

To Thy glorious rest above!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus -

Spread His praise from shore to shore!

How He loveth, ever loveth,

Changeth never, nevermore!

How He watches o'er His loved ones,

Died to call them all His own;

How for them He intercedeth,

Watcheth o'er them from the throne!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,

Love of every love the best!

"Tis an ocean full of blessing,

'Tis a haven giving rest!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus -

'Tis a heaven of heavens to me;

And it lifts me up to glory,

For it lifts me up to Thee!

God of all,

We give you thanks for so many riches. Yet we ask for one

VALENTINE'S DAY SINGING TELEGRAMS - You are invited to book the The M&S Singers (aka Fraser Road United Church Youth Group) to serenade your loved ones this Valentine's Day. Minimum donation will be $5 and your money will go to support the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada. The GUATEMALA MISSION TEAM 2008 is eager to have more enthusiastic team members join us for the two week mission in April 2008. We have each committed to paying $3000 for the cost of the trip. Some of us will be fund-raising to get that amount and others prefer to "pay and go" without the hassle of fund-raising. With those two options, we figure we can accommodate everyone's preferences. Many want to go, but felt overwhelmed, discouraged or distracted by the fund-raising and would rather pay the money themselves. If the fund-raising has been the deciding factor for you, please reconsider with these new guidelines in place and contact Rev. Steph (424-6681) to join the team. We'd love to have you with us, but you must respond by March 30th. Thanks.

YOU'RE INVITED to join "The Inbe Tweeners" for a games and nachos night at the church on March 2nd at 7:30 PM! Who are "The Inbe Tweeners" you ask? Anyone between Youth Group and Retirement age. Call Rev. Steph for more info 256-3000 or 424-6681!
