Sunday Worship - October 22, 2006
Conducted by the United Church Women
At the call of Jesus Christ,
we, the people
of Fraser Road United Church, seek to:
Welcome all;
Strengthen one another;
Nurture each other in faith;
Prepare and direct our people
into God's world for service.
* Please stand as you are able.
WE GATHER TO PRAISE GOD
*Organ Prelude
*Procession of Word and Light
*Greeting
The grace of our Saviour Jesus Christ,
and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.
And also with you.
*Passing The Peace Of Christ
The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.
Life and Work of the Church
*Introit: "I am the Light of the World"
I am the light of the world!
You people come and follow me!
If you follow and love you'll learn the mystery
of what you were meant to do and be.
*Call to Worship: (responsive)
Let us come before God with thanksgiving;
May we share with others the spirit of Christ.
God is the source of all hope,
Christ is the living example of divine love,
We seek to be at one with the Spirit,
We seek to be at peace with our neighbour.
God has given us breath to live and spirit to sing.
Let us worship God with love, thanksgiving, and praise.
*Opening Prayer:
We are followers of the living Christ.
Christ's followers always have been open to new life -
a life of vision and purpose;
a life of giving and sharing;
a life of wholeness and meaning.
May Christ be a part of our journey together. Amen.
*Hymn: "Jesus, United by Your Grace" #591
Prayer of Confession: (in unison)
We admit our need for you, God, in all of life.
You are the source of our meaning; you give direction and purpose to all that we do. There are times, though, when we forget our inner purpose, or we lose our sense of direction. There are moments when we try to live on our own and we fail. We ask, God, that as we lose sight of our way, you may encourage us, and support us. As we admit our tendency to disappoint you, may you never abandon us. Amen.
Words of Assurance:
Hear the good news of Jesus Christ: We are forgiven, we are loved, we are set free.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
*Acclamation: Halle, halle, hallelujah (x3)
Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Ministry of Music Heavenly Sunlight
Scripture Reading: John 4:7-30
Drama: "The Woman at the Well"
*Hymn: "Fill My Cup Lord"
Like the woman at the well I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy:
And then I heard my Savior speaking:
"Draw from my well that never shall run dry".
Fill my cup Lord,
I lift it up, Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul;
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!
There are millions in this world who are craving
The pleasures earthly things afford;
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.

The whole of creation is holy, O God.
We bring you a small measure of what you have given us so that through these gifts the church may continue to witness to your living presence in the world. In Jesus' name. Amen.
