*Introit: Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow #541 VU
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
praise God, all creatures high and low;
give thanks to God in love made known:
Creator, Word and Spirit, One.
*Call To Worship (responsive):
God created the heavens and the earth.
And gave them to us to use and enjoy.
And God breathed life into each of us, and set us upon this earth.
And God sent Jesus to save us from the pull of death.
Everything that fills our souls with gladness and light is a gift from the loving Creator.
We have been entrusted with unfathomable riches.
For all this our God is to be thanked and praised. Let us worship God together!
* Opening Prayer (in unison):
Since, dear God, like a father you daily guard us against evil, and like a mother you constantly bring us gifts of goodness; give us we pray, your Holy Spirit, that witnessing your goodness, we may always praise your kindness, through the grace of Jesus Christ. Amen.
*Opening Hymn: For The Beauty Of The Earth #226 VU
Prayer of Confession (in unison):
God of remembrance, do not forget your mercy. Remind us of your desire for us to share the fullness of life with all your children. We forget those who deserve our gratitude. We take our friendships too much for granted. We too often do not remember the right gesture until it is too late. Make us thankful and generous with all that has been given us. Restore to us the joy of your salvation. Inspire us that we may rightly remember the past by building a legacy of hope for those who follow us, that they also may know the goodness of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
God is merciful and gently reminds us to be grateful for the love we know, the gifts we share and the forgiveness that is so freely given to all who turn to God in hope. As forgiven and loved people we say, "Thanks be to God!" And we praise the Lord with Halle, Halle, Halle!
