*Introit: Seek Ye First (VU #356, vs. 1)
Seek ye first the kingdom of God
and God's righteousness,
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Hallelu, hallelujah.
*Call To Worship (responsive):
Through human lips
CHRIST IS SPEAKING
Through human hands
CHRIST IS HEALING
Through our hearts
CHRIST IS LOVING
Through us all
CHRIST IS WORKING.
So, behold the truth,
Christ is here in and amongst us.
*Opening Prayer (in unison):
O God, make the door of this house wide enough to receive all who need human love and fellowship, narrow enough to shut out all envy, pride, and strife. Make its threshold smooth enough to be no stumbling-block to children, nor to straying feet, but rugged and strong enough to turn back evil's power. God, make the door of this house the gateway to your eternal kingdom. Amen. - Bishop Thomas Ken 1637-1711
*Opening Hymn: "Fairest Lord Jesus" VU #341
A Prayer of Confession (in unison):
O God, we have sinned in many ways. We have not loved you with all our hearts. We have not loved one another as we should. Sometimes
we have let pride rule us, sometimes anger; sometimes our sin has been carelessness,
sometimes resentment, or impatience, or greed. Forgive us. We need your love. Amen.
