Congregational Life and Work
*Introit: "Spirit of the Living God" VU376
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mould me, fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
2 Spirit of the living God, move among us all;
make us one in heart and mind, make us one in love:
humble, caring, selfless, sharing.
Spirit of the living God, fill our lives with love!
*Call To Worship (Psalm 111 Adapted)
We rejoice that we can praise you, O God, in the congregation of your people.
We give you wholehearted thanks.
Your covenant is secure, O God.
You have stayed faithful over the generations.
Your principles are right, O God.
You call us to practice justice and to remain faithful.
A loving respect for you, O God, is the wise course.
It will lead us to praise you eternally.
*Opening Prayer
God of Light, rising each new day, you gather us together in
worship.
Be at the heart of our praising.
You gather us to hear your good news.
Be at the heart of our listening.
You gather us to see the Risen Christ.
Be at the heart of our seeing.
You gather us to send us out in faith.
Be at the heart of our serving. Amen.
*Opening Hymn: "Praise The Lord With The Sound Of Trumpet" VU245
A Prayer of Confession
Holy Wisdom, you call us to walk in your way of life,
but we prefer paths of our own making.
You hold out your hand,
but we prefer to walk alone.
You offer insight, but we close our ears,
forgive us for ignoring you, for shutting you out.
Revive us, O God, that we may rejoice in your will for our lives,
and walk in your way of justice for all.
In Jesus's name we pray. Amen.
Words of Assurance
Honest, thorough reflection comes from God;
the will to change comes from God;
and the strength for change comes from God.
Pardon is God's to grant.
We are God's people; we will reflect and change and receive God's pardon.
God's peace is yours. Believe it! Feel it!
Thanks be to God! Amen.

*Doxology (VU541)
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
praise God, all creatures high and low;
give thanks to God in love made known:
Creator, Word and Spirit, One.
*Prayer of Dedication of Gifts and Self
Gifts, abundant and glorious, you shower upon us,
O God, yet we often receive them without acknowledging the
Gracious Giver.
How can we ever thank you?
Are there words enough, deeds that are good enough?
We can make a start by bringing our heartfelt worship to
you and by treating our fellow men and women in the way
Jesus made clear. With this renewed determination,
receive our gifts. Amen.
Prayers of The People and Lord's Prayer
*Hymn: "Would You Bless Our Homes and Families" VU556
*Commissioning
We leave this church as God's partners.
Together we will face the old challenges;
together we will face the new realities;
together we will move forward without fear;
together we will bring peace and experience peace.
We go out in partnership with you, O God.
