At the call of Jesus Christ, we, the people

of Fraser Road United Church, seek to:

Welcome all;

Strengthen one another;

Nurture each other in faith;

Prepare and direct our people into God's world for service.

* Please stand as you are able.

CONGREGATIONAL LIFE AND WORK

* INTROIT: Father, I Adore You

Father, I Adore you,

Lay my life before you,

how I love you.

* CALL TO WORSHIP

The road is long.

But we keep walking.

Who walks with us?

Our friends and our neighbours.

People we know.

People we don't.

Does Christ walk with us?

Of course!

How do we know?

In the moments of fellowship,

in the times of love,

in the asking of questions,

in the seeking of answers,

in all these times we see him.

Alleluia!

Alleluia!

* OPENING PRAYER (in unison)

Glorious God, we come together as your people.
We come as a praising people, singing your goodness;
we come as a praying people, bringing our needs, our joys;
we come as a listening people, opening to your Word.
Fill us with your love and empower us for faithful living,
we pray.

* HYMN: We Praise You, O God #218

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (in unison)

Our lives are sometimes very lacking in love, God. We only barely love ourselves; some days it is a struggle to love our families; and there's little energy left for loving our neighbour. We love you when we can, God, and try to believe in your exhaustible love for us, but the words sound hollow. When you say "I love you", we are always waiting for the "if . . ." Forgive us our lack of faith and limited loving. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON (responsive):

This is the Good News in Jesus Christ:

God loves us without limits.

God loves us more than we love ourselves.

God set us free to love others.

Thanks be to God.
