(children follow waving Palm branches & masks)

The Jelly Bean Easter Drama

* Introit: This Is The Day

This is the day, this is the day

that our God has made, that our God has made;

we will rejoice, we will rejoice,

and be glad in it, and be glad in it.

This is the day that our God has made,

we will rejoice and be glad in it.

This is the day, this is the day

that our God has made.

The Drama Continues

* Hymn: Ride On, Ride on In Majesty #127

Prayer of Confession (in unison):

Loving God, we know that we can look to you for help,

yet so often we seek assistance

from less secure and creative sources.

We know that you bless us,

intending that others will be blessed through us,

yet so often we hoard your goodness instead of sharing it.

We know you are gracious,

yet so often we act as though we must earn your love.

We know that you are mysterious beyond our full understanding,

yet so often we try to contain you.

Forgive us, and increase our faith,

that we may trust your promises

and honour you all the days of our lives.

We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

*Passing the Peace of Christ

The peace of Christ be with you......

AND ALSO WITH YOU.

Thank you for sharing life.

Thanks you for sharing love.

Thank you for sharing Christ.

Thank you for this community.

Thank you for the gifts -your gifts, their

gifts, and my gifts.

We ask that you would guide us

in how we might use what we have and

who we are,

that we might share your love with each

other and with your world.

In Christ's name, we pray. Amen.

Prayers of the People

The Lord's Prayer

Prayer for Palm Sunday (in unison):

We praise you, O God,

for your redemption of the world through Jesus Christ.

Today he entered the holy city of Jerusalem in triumph

and was proclaimed Messiah and king

by those who spread garments and branches

along his way.

Let these branches be signs of his victory,

and grant that we who carry them

may follow him in the way of the cross,

that, dying and rising with him,

we may enter into your kingdom;

through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns

with you and the Holy Spirit,

now and forever. Amen.

THE SENDING FORTH

* Hymn: Hosanna, Loud Hosanna #123

*Commissioning & Benediction

You are the answer to our questions, O God,

Your insight brings us peace.

You are the answer to our doubts, O God,

Your truth brings us peace.

You are the answer to our lack of faith, O God,

Your presence peacefully secures us.

You are the answer in our life's journey, O God,

Your Way in Jesus Christ leads us

confidently and peacefully forward.

Amen.

Go Now In Peace (sung) VU #964

Go now in peace, go now in peace.

May the love of God surround you everywhere,

everywhere you may go.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED! For the Confirmands who asked, I did not forget... Here's your answer! Doxology means - words sung in praise; hymn or verse of praise to God (short) from the Greek for 'words of praise' - Usually has the Trinitarian formula - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Benediction simply means blessing; or words of blessing. Thanks for asking.
