Prepare and direct our people into God's world for service.

CONGREGATIONAL LIFE AND WORK

* INTROIT: I Feel The Winds Of God Today (# 625VU)

I feel the winds of God today;

today my sail I lift,

though heavy oft with drenching spray

and torn with many a rift;

if hope but light the water's crest,

and Christ my bark will use,

I'll seek the seas at his behest,

and brave another cruise.

CALL TO WORSHIP (responsive):

Through human lips

CHRIST IS SPEAKING.

Though human hands

CHRIST IS HEALING.

Through our hearts

CHRIST IS LOVING.

Through us all

CHRIST IS WORKING.

So, behold the truth Christ is here in and amongst us.

LET US WORSHIP GOD!

* OPENING PRAYER (in unison):

God of the Way,

you are the road we travel,

and the sign we follow;

you are bread for the journey,

and the wine of arrival.

Guide us as we follow in your way,

holding on to each other,

reaching out to your beloved world.

And when we stray,

seek us out and find us,

set our feet on the path again,

and lead us safely home.

In the name of Jesus, our Companion, we pray. Amen.

* HYMN: Come To My Heart #661

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (in unison):

Holy and gracious God,

gathered as your people responding to your call,

we confess

the self that is not aware of sinning;

the heart that is too hardened to repent;

the pride that dares not admit it is wrong;

the righteousness that knows no fault;

the callousness that has ceased to care;

the blindness that can see nothing but its own will.

God, in your healing love, forgive us;

through our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

* HYMN: Jesus, You Have Come To The Lakeshore #563

1 Jesus, you have come to the lakeshore

looking neither for wealthy nor wise ones;

you only asked me to follow humbly.

O Jesus, with your eyes you have searched me,

and while smiling, have spoken my name;

now my boat's left on the shoreline behind me;

by your side I will seek other seas.

2 You know so well my possessions;

my boat carries no gold and no weapons;

- you will find there my nets and labour. R

3 You need my hands, full of caring

through my labours to give others rest,

and constant love that keeps on loving. R

4 You, who have fished other oceans,

ever longed for by souls who are waiting,

my loving friend, as thus you call me. R

NUT ALLERGIES

Did you know? - that several children in our Sunday School have severe nut allergies?

- that several children in our Parents 'n Tots, Scouting groups, etc. also have severe nut allergies?

- that several adults in our congregation have severe nut allergies?

If any of these people come into contact with nuts, or items contaminated with nuts, it could be fatal.

What can we do to reduce the chance of an allergic reaction on our church property?

We would like to make our Church and Hall nut-free. Nut-free means free of nut extracts as well.

Please consider the danger you create when you bring food items containing nuts or nut products to church functions.

Planning a recipe with Graham Wafers? The Co-op brand is guaranteed nut-free, while other brands are labelled, "May have come in contact with nuts."
Need Chocolate? Aero, Kit Kit, Coffee Crisp and Smarties are Share Safe. M&M's and others are not.
