God has gathered us into a community of care and worship.

Let us worship God with love, thanksgiving, and praise.

Prayer of Confession:

Gracious God, as people called to be your presence in the world,

we search our hearts, and ask your forgiveness:

for opportunities not taken, for care not given,

forgive us, we pray,

for sorrow not shared, for joy not celebrated,

forgive us, we pray,

for love not offered, forgiveness not extended,

forgive us, we pray,

for those failings we cannot speak aloud,

forgive us, we pray.

Gracious God, we seek your healing grace, and ask forgiveness in the name of Jesus. Amen.

VOTING PRIVILEGES AND CONFIRMATION - the congregation of Fraser Road United will be voting on two important issues before Spring 2006 - the issues are Same-Sex Marriages and the calling of a new Minister. Our National Church requires that only confirmed members can vote on either of these matters. At a meeting on Oct. 17, our Church Council agreed that we would proceed on that basis. It was decided we would make it possible for adherents (non-members) to participate in these votes by presenting the opportunity for them to become members of or have their membership transferred to Fraser Road United Church. Beginning on Sunday, January 8, 2006, and for the following three Sundays, Confirmation Classes will be held in the Church Sanctuary from 2 - 4 p.m. with Confirmation taking place at 7 p.m. on Sun., Jan. 29, 2006.

This will be the only set of Confirmation classes offered for the Pastoral Charge this year. Confirmation age begins with Grade 8 students. If there are candidates from Benton and Glenwood/Appleton, one of the classes will be held in each church.

These important votes will take place sometime after Jan. 29, 2006 with only confirmed members of the congregation being permitted to vote.

FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING, Wednesday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m. in the Pre-K Room of the church basement. All members are requested to attend, if possible.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Volunteers are urgently needed for the Finance Committee due to transfers and term expirations. Persons interested in filling a vacancy can call Don at 256-2809.

CAN YOU HELP? The guitar group would like to have a drummer with a snare drum join the group. If anyone is interested, please contact Ken Slaney.

ARE YOU ON PAR? Of course not, because the program has not yet been introduced at our church. You may not be aware, but there have been times, particularly during the summer months, that our church has had to delay payment of current obligations due to the peaks and valleys in regular congregational givings. PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance) is a program, administered by the United Church of Canada, that is designed to help eliminate these peaks and valleys. More information about this program will be forthcoming in the following weeks. In the meantime, think about a monthly deduction from your bank account as a convenient way to fulfill your financial commitment to Fraser Road United Church.

ANNUAL THANKSGIVING TURKEY DINNER will be held on Thursday, November 24 in the church hall. A superb meal is guaranteed. Tickets at $10.00, will be available on or near November 1/05.
